Hair Extension Aftercare: Our Top Tips for Long-Lasting Nano Beads
Nano bead hair extensions can last 10–12 months — but longevity comes down to how they're cared for between appointments. These are the aftercare habits we recommend to every LA LA LUXE client.
The essentials
Never go to bed with wet hair. Extensions become far more prone to knots, tangles and frizz when slept on wet, and fully drying your hair and extensions matters for scalp health too.
Always dry your roots. Damp roots around the attachment points are the fastest way to shorten the life of your extensions.
Use recommended salon products. The right shampoo and care products protect both the extension hair and your own.
Use a hair extension brush. A proper extension brush glides over the beads without pulling.
Book maintenance every 6–8 weeks. Regular move-ups keep the beads sitting discreetly and your hair healthy.

Always shampoo twice. The first shampoo breaks down environmental dirt and build-up; the second actually cleanses the hair.
The overnight beach-wave trick
Brush your hair before styling it in a loose plait for bed. You'll wake up to a natural beach wave — no heat required.
Why does hair shed?
On average you lose up to 150 hair strands a day. This happens during the telogen phase of the hair growth cycle and is completely normal — you'll notice some natural shedding at your move-up appointments, and it's nothing to worry about.
